This Women’s Portal aims to improve access to government information and services by providing a single website from which online resources can be searched and accessed. It is essentially a directory of resources, which is intended to simplify the process of locating government information.

UNIFEM (The United Nations Development Fund for Women)
UNIFEM is the women's fund at the United Nations. Established in 1976, it provides financial and technical assistance to innovative approaches aimed at fostering women's empowerment and gender equality. UNIFEM Australia was incorporated in 1990 and has a membership base of a large number of women's organisations as well as approximately 850 individual members.

Global Peace Initiative of Women (GPIW)
Founded by a group of women religious and spiritual leaders to provide a global platform through which women and men, working in partnership, can foster the spiritual values of global unity, peacebuilding and the development of all the peoples of the world. GPIW is an international network of women and men who come together to tap our collective spiritual wisdom to stimulate reconciliation and healing in areas of conflict and post-conflict, and to deepen understanding of oneness, compassion and the principles of ahimsa (non-harm) as central tenets of life.

Lesbians Incorporated (LInc)
Lesbians Incorporated provides financial backing to lesbians and lesbian friendly organisations through its community grants scheme. Since 2000, they have distributed over $75,000 for a range of activities of benefit to the lesbian community. Lesbians and lesbian friendly organisations may apply for grants up to $500 at any time. About every 18 months, LInc will fund one large grant of up to $10,000. LInc is a not for profit community organisation managed entirely by volunteers.

Sydney Lesbian Open House
Sydney Lesbian Open House is a free, informal discussion group open to all who identify as lesbian, bisexual, transgender, asexual or just don’t know. We meet every Tuesday at 7pm at the Women’s Library at 10 Brown Street, Newtown (just behind the City of Sydney library). The meeting lasts an hour then we head off for coffee or a drink.
